I am glad you love this mission it really is the best!

Hi!

Elder Wright is a boss! I am glad you love this mission it really is the best! I really don’t want to ever have to leave, it feels like home and the members here feel like a family all my sisters and funny aunts and studly brothers these guys are so awesome. Elder Hill and I are working hard we are doing a ton of street contacting on presidents orders and its great we are getting rejected all day long. Every rejection just makes you more hungry to find the one prepared soul! I sure love the people still not perfectly but I am really trying to have that Christ like charity, it’s not like there is really anybody that’s too hard to love but I want to actually truly love them and not just say it.
Dad you have a minion? That reminds me of despicable me haha he looks like a stud and quite the fisherman!
Teddy! You bet I still have that hat I bought in Cali! It’s a little dirty but still way sicckk!! There are tons of coconut trees out here and lots of coconuts to eat but you can’t shake them they are really hard, believe me I’ve tried! I still can’t really tell the difference between palm trees and coconut trees they look really similar!
Kenny I did it! I read it all in a British accent it was grand! That sounds like a way fun class!
Ben, has Dad taken you fishing a bunch? Are you still working on your basketball and football skills? Have you seen any Giants games lately? How bout any arsenal games? Do you read the Book of Mormon every day? I love you dude someday you’re going to be a great missionary!
Jeana, you have soo much fun all the time. Don’t you love summer? It’s like summer all year long here!
Olivia is sooo darn cute!!! Thanks for typing it like that!!

Reliving the Greenie Experience through my son

Area: Chiang Rai
Companion: Elder Hill
July 15, 2013

HI!

It is really fun training and reliving the greenie experience through your son those really were the best of times! Not knowing what anyone is saying everyone calling you farang eating songtam for the first time eating all the hot crazy food that for some reason your trainer loves ;) having constant diarrhea getting over jet lag falling asleep whenever you’re sitting for more than 20 mins, calling people names when you’re trying to compliment them having members tease you and you don’t know what’s going on its so much fun! Elder Hill is handling it like a champ he just wants to take on the world and he is so good he volunteered to share the spiritual thought at his very first FHE. I had to help him out a bit but that is crazy there was no way I was brave enough to do that on my first time. He is also way funny and he happens to be crazy good at martial arts like Elder Omer but he knows Hun Ga which is like Shaolin monk craziness, he was also an EMT and a flabotamist (no idea how to spell that! someone that draws blood) he has the funniest stories from the hospital and like different calls he has had to go on! he had me in stitches I was crying I was laughing so hard! Stuff like a guy calling his neck tumor Kathy and then when they chuckled at that the guy was like "you think my cancer is funny?!" at which point both Elder Hill and the surgeon had to leave the room cause they were laughing so hard! Another couple highlights were I kicked the dog that chases us all the time he tries to get us like every day and I kicked him HARD right on the nose and everything. Another was we were teaching Chompo at her house which is kinda in mountain jungle and while we were teaching a big frog jumped on my companion 555 he freaked and then not 30 seconds later Chompo's cat came running in with a big rat in its mouth and it was still alive and the cat ran right in the room and dropped the rat and then everyone freaked. Chompo and her mom and the sister that was helping us all screamed, haha. When we got over our fright we laughed and laughed!
Besides all the fun we are having we are really working with the youth a lot and trying to apply the Work of Salvation. Elder Hill is really gung ho and willing to do or try just about anything except eat the hot food I give him. It is really great having so many new ideas and things to try there is no one perfect way to do missionary work if there was we would all be doing it.
Hey Mikaela I saw you have got a new mission pres Alan J Baker that is gonna be so sweet I’m so stoked for you. That’s so sweet that the Brad and Rachael came up to visit I bet you all had a blast!!!

Hi Guys!

We had a crazy week, transfers always is Elder Omer moved and so did Elder Hunsaker I’m really going to miss those too they are both so awesome. We found out Tuesday before English that we had to go to transfers so Wednesday we packed up and cleaned the house and got tickets and then got on the bus at 5. I didn’t sleep so good on the bus and when we I woke up I found two huge bug bites on my arms I don’t know what got me but it was big.
Transfer meeting was way fun they made it an all day event with a bunch of training and stuff. The big news was that I am training back to back and so is Elder Ellsworth and Elder Terry is too!
My luug is Elder Hill from Bountiful Utah he has 4 siblings is a boss guitarist loves the fine arts and backflips! He also makes me feel short he is at least 6'4 and large in stature.
Elder Murray was just transferred to Lao! Replacing Elder Hunsaker up here is Elder Harris who is another one of my noongs from the MTC! It’s way fun serving with him.
So first day in Chiang Rai we went and ate khaaw sooy for lunch it’s this amazing northern soup so good! Only one problem Elder Hill doesn’t really do spicy but we will keep working on that 555
Quest sounds absolutely phenomenal! I’m so glad that you all got to go and have those amazing experiences! We got to see that awesome couple again they were Elder Hill's (the letter got cut off here, sometimes that is our luck, sigh! but it is so much better than waiting 3 months for snail mail 55, just a mothers thoughts)

P.S. Last p-day we played risk! soo much fun we bought a world map and set it all up and used cut up straws and coins for armies and then bought pizza and played risk for hours it was awesome!

We have seen miracles in Chiang Rai.

Hey Guys,

We have seen miracles in Chiang Rai. The Lord has really blessed us in our efforts. We are working hard and the work is progressing and it shows as well.

First the good news. In a combined effort of our two companion-ships we led 7 less-active members back to church. For some of them it was the first time in years! It was phenomenal we were so thrilled! Also in my companionship the Lord led us to 4 very prepared new investigators. One asked us to help her become clean from sin on her first lesson. Another experience we went to go visit a less-active but he was not there, but we felt strongly prompted to call at the door across the street. We did so and a couple came out to meet us and both myself and Elder Omer felt distinctly like we had seen them before. I asked them but they had never seen us before in fact had just moved in to town 3 days prior from the mountains. They immediately accepted our invite to learn of restored truths. We were able to share with them and bare simple testimony. We found out they were catholic but were looking for something else. They said before we left that they felt like God had sent us. We bore testimony that he truly had. It was incredible! I have never had such an amazing experience, it was beautifully unique. We had a second chance to see them and share the message of the Restoration. The spirit filled the room, they felt something special. I am so impressed with their sincerity and how they wholeheartedly listen, they are so focused and really think about the questions we ask them. They explained that they have always wanted to know if God was real and loved but had never thought to ask. You could tell that they had truly yearned to know for themselves. Again before we left they expressed their feelings that we were like angels sent of God. It floored me they have such simple beautiful faith and they are able to perceive the principles that we teach. I am so grateful for especially these two investigators. I literally think of them every hour of every day. I feel so much love for them and I have barely met them and in between lessons I can’t wait for the next time to teach them.

Love you Guys
