We baptized Nick this week and next week we should have 2
more my goal before i cob is to baptize 30 people here in Udon so far 16/30

(Elder Cahoon’s letter to Sister Cahoon who is serving in
the Chesapeake Virginia Mission.)
This is how we invite on baptism. Mikaela talk to people
like this! We don’t have as many people out here in Udon but we stop while we
are biking like every 30 seconds sometimes a 5 minute bike ride takes us 20
mins sometimes we have asked the same people every single day and we are going
to keep asking them until they give us the right answer! This works so well
here it is amazing! I also know that it works in America and everywhere else in
the world for that matter. Mikaela I ask every Farang I see if they want to be
baptized I haven’t got one yet and frequently they freak out on me. I think it’s
hilarious when they do even if I am a little shaken up by it. Elder Yuen just
got home 2 or 3 weeks ago and he went out with the missionaries in his ward
back home in California they invited like this for 2 hours and they found 2 new
daters! The missionaries out there were shocked but they loved it! It is way
fun to do but to succeed you need to talk to everyone literally everyone you
see don’t let someone pass you by without knowing that you want to help them to
be baptized. Never forget God didn’t send you there to help less-actives, or
strengthen members, or to plant seeds, or strengthen your own faith all that is
secondary. God sent you to Virginia to baptize His children that He has
prepared for you. President Senior said at MLC this past week "You focus
on convert baptisms. Why? because that's your job!" It is even more than
your job, you have received a sacred calling and commission to help your
brothers and sisters to be baptized. You are an apostle with a lower-case
"a" you are literally a representative of Jesus Christ you have the
power and authority to promise the people you meet on the street a remission of
sins and salvation in the kingdom of God! The only other people on a earth that
can do that we sustain as prophets seers and revelators. You are anything but
ordinary you are no longer just some 19 year-old girl from Canada you are a
servant of the God Almighty! I don’t care what anyone tells you or how much
rejection, you get or how angry it makes other people You go out there and tell
them that you are a servant of God and that God loves them and that they need
to be baptized at the church on Sunday March 23rd!
You said that they say they have already been baptized
everyone here says they are Buddhist. I ask people if they want to be baptized
for a remission of sins on the 23rd. It’s a yes or no question so I repeat the
question until they answer it, knocking aside all their excuses. I talked to a Jewish
Farang this week it went something like this:
This is baptism I know through Jesus Christ you can be
cleansed from your sins. Do you want to be baptized for a remission of sins on
the March 16th?
I'm Jewish
Ok Do you want to be baptized on the 16th?
I'm Jewish Jewish people can’t get baptized Christian people
get baptized Don’t you know anything about Jews?
That’s alright you can get baptized too sir Do you want
to be baptized on the 16th?
I can’t write what he said next and there was a lot of stuff
he went on a 30 second rant
So is that a no?
Continuing ranting
Ok sir, have a nice day and jump on the next person in
sight.
If they say they have already been baptized tell them they
can be baptized again. Go till they give you a clear answer, be bold. I have
had plenty of people get right up in my face and yell at me or make fun of me
or swear at me, it doesn’t matter, I count it as a privilege The point of this
is to sift through people and find the elect as fast as possible! You are not
supposed to teach anybody that’s not elect PMG says teach those that will receive
you, if they don’t receive you go find someone who will! I know that if you
will do these things you will have more success than you thought possible you
will help so many people to be baptized! There is a reason I am so adamant
about you doing this and why I am so fired up about it is because, for the
first year and a half I wasted so much time not doing this and focusing on
less-actives and everything else but baptism. Don’t do the same you don’t have
enough time as a missionary to do anything but baptize!
